GGI Energy Industry Group Launches at the Pan-American Conference
GGI members with energy clients will have a new resource within the GGI alliance beginning in June 2019. Patricia Voth Blankenship, from GGI firm Foulston Siefkin LLP in Kansas, USA, will lead the launch of GGI’s new Energy Industry Group.
The group will connect thought leaders to share energy industry best practices and connections from legal, accounting, and financial service firms. The energy group’s first meeting will take place in the US Hydrocarbon Energy Centre Houston at the upcoming GGI Pan- American Conference, 20-23 June. The featured speaker is renowned energy industry expert Dan Pickering, President of Tudor Pickering Holt & Co., a Houston-based energy investment and merchant bank. Many thanks to GGI member Christine Hollinden of Hollinden Marketers + Strategists for making the connection and helping to book Dan. Members desiring to participate in the leadership of the group, to take part as a member, and/or to suggest the direction and focus of the group, may contact Trish Voth and should, of course, attend the conference!
Foulston and Voth, co-leader of the firm’s energy team, are driving this initiative because of the firm’s commitment to serving energy industry clients and because of the diversity of the energy industry in the US’ Midwest. In addition to the traditional US coal and hydrocarbon producers, the energy group will be open to GGI member firms serving producers of wind, solar, and hydroelectric energy, energy distributors, including pipeline and transmission carriers, and consumerfacing industry representatives, such as public utilities and energy distribution businesses.
Foulston Siefkin LLP, with offces in Wichita, Topeka, and Kansas City, was founded in the heart of oil and gas country: their lawyers have worked with energy producers and distributors throughout the firm’s 100 years, expanding their practice to include renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar, and biofuels. Trish Voth leads Foulston’s real estate and environmental team in addition to co-leading the energy team. She frequently works with clients to solve matters related to wind energy, solar energy, and commercial real estate. Kansas’ highquality wind resources have led to numerous wind energy developments in the state with national, regional, and local companies. Trish has represented both wind project developers and owners as well as counselling landowners on matters including wind project easements, leases, state and local permitting, environmental, taxation, tax exemption and regulatory compliance. Trish’s team includes lawyers with deep experience in environmental, oil and gas, land use, and real estate law, who will also be involved with the GGI Energy Industry Group.
